Do not adjust your screen – it really is an upside-down Christmas tree, and no, they didn’t just flip the picture over. Is this what innovation produces? I hear they are having trouble keeping it in stock! I like capitalism, but the “more room for presents under the tree” doesn’t really fly with me. Sometimes I don’t like knowing the latest trends. And boy, are they expensive! Buy your own – at Target.com They don’t come cheap, though. In case the picture disappears, go here to see another picture, or read more about it.
My colleagues are telling me to wipe off my “smug” look that I seem to have in these last days at my teaching job. I prefer to think of it as happiness, but I guess it depends on the beholder. Things at school are degenerating badly since the office is very understaffed and is unable to manage the schedules and classes effectively, so every day several teachers and students have something to complain about. It’s a really negative atmosphere right now, and I have to say I’m lucky to be going. I think before summer the atmosphere was much better, for whatever reason(s), and I hope it heads back that direction.
We’ll be having a little leaving-do for me and an Aussie colleague Friday night in Milan (if for some reason you’re around, leave me a comment and your email and I’ll give you details).
Taking a cue from my friend Yan, whom I could never try to be more nerdy than (he’s 77% – Mid-rank Nerd!), I tried the Nerd test. A respectable score (what does Lightly Nerdy really mean?), but hopefully not an indication of my performance on my new, mainly-technical job.
My Nanowrimo has slowed to a desperate crawl, but I haven’t been defeated yet. I still have plenty of time! It’s not even 1/3 of November yet.
Yelp!
It appears I’m “lightly nerdy” with a score of 51. Luki
I am a total nerd, my old score from 3 months ago was 69 and now I am 71. Ha Ha! I did a post on this and link to your site. I have too much time on my hands.
An upside down tree? What the heck? Some must have had too much egg nog, passed out under the tree and came up with this idea after waking up under the tree.
I don’t even want to know what they will think of next!

I jsut saw a news story on this. They called it a new american trend. I am so embarressed. Why do *we* have to do these stupid things. Now my in-laws will tell me that this is the new trend and everyone in the US does it, and they do it so there is more room for gifts. (They tend to become experts on a subject when they see it on the news.. ) heheh
